The Spelman College Museum of Fine Art is celebrating its 30th anniversary with 'Between Here & Infinity: Celebrating 30 Years of the Spelman College Art Collection.'
The exhibition features nearly 70 works by Black women artists from the museum's permanent collection — the first show to span both of the museum's gallery spaces, opening in two waves across September and October 2026.
Museum Director Liz Andrews describes it as staging 'conversations between works across media and across time' — a fresh view of an evolving collection built by generations of curators and artists who dreamed the museum into existence.
Spelman has long been one of the most important institutional homes for Black women's artistic expression. Thirty years in, this show is both a celebration and a statement about where the collection — and the canon — goes next.
If you're anywhere near Atlanta, this is worth the trip.
