A year-long fellowship between Black American and Asian American artists in Philadelphia wraps up with a three-day pop-up exhibition, November 13 to 15, 2026.
The Black + Gold Artists Exchange shows new work at two sites: Asian Arts Initiative's Project Space, 1219 Vine Street in Chinatown, and Painted Bride Project Space, 4029 Cambridge Street in West Philadelphia.
The four artists are Gina Kim, Kara Mshinda, Anula Shetty and Marquis Wright-Lee. Through their own practices they take on identity, belonging, cultural memory and solidarity, and Asian Arts Initiative calls the project an exercise in civic reimagining.
The weekend opens with an RSVP reception Friday, Nov 13, 6 to 8 PM at Asian Arts Initiative, runs gallery hours at both spaces Saturday and Sunday, and closes with a reception Sunday, Nov 15, 2 to 4 PM at Painted Bride. Philadelphia is in COZART's priority region, and three days is all you get. RSVP early.
